Curriculum KS1 and KS2
At Tiptoe School we believe that every day should be used to the full and we want every child to be challenged and keen to learn. In our fast changing society, we recognise the need to teach the children how to learn. We want the children to strive for excellence in every aspect of our curriculum which is wide, balanced and cohesive, and provided according to agreed policies. We want the children to think for themselves, exercise their imaginations and enjoy their learning.
The curriculum is at the heart of everything we do in our busy learning environment. Every day provides an abundance of learning opportunities and we seek, therefore, to match the learning to the child so that they can excel in all that they do.
We follow the National Curriculum which is a comprehensive, thematic, curriculum with a clear process of learning and with specific learning goals for every subject and for personal learning. The NC ensures rigorous learning to make all learning exciting, active and meaningful for children. Further information can be found at: https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/national-curriculum
We use the Oxford Reading Tree Scheme to support the teaching of reading and Letters and Sounds to support phonics.
Each term we hold curriculum meetings for parents to explain their child's learning. Please click on the link below to view our current curriculum for each class:
