School Meals

We are excited to announce that we will be moving to a new catering provider from September 2025, with ABM Catering taking over responsibility for providing hot lunches to our school.

ABM pride themselves on fresh ingredients, locally sourced produce and are committed to providing hot lunches for all children in primary schools, and particularly for those eligible for free lunches under the Universal Infant Free School Meals (all YR - 2 pupils) and Free School Meals programmes.

Great news - we have secured a contract that will enable us to reduce the cost of a hot meal from £3.20 to £2.85 per day, so we hope that you will see not only improved quality but at better value too!

The menu continues to offer a 3 week rolling menu with a daily meat and vegetarian option. In addition, there will be an extra third option which will be a tomato pasta on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week or a jacket potato option on the Tuesday (with cheese) and Thursday (with Tuna). Please see full menu below.

This menu begins after half term commencing 23/2/26

We operate a cashless policy whereby the only method to pay for School Dinners is via Scopay. It is expected that all dinners are paid for in advance.

What Are Universal Infant Free School Meals? All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a meal, free of charge, under the current Government UIFSM programme:

  • registration is not required
  • each child will be able to have a hot, two course meal at their school which includes a meat or non-meat main item, vegetables, potato, pasta or rice, salad and a dessert

What are FREE SCHOOL MEALS? Known as the Pupil Premium, this is additional funding  available for pupils of families on benefits or low income. You can still apply even if your child is in the Infants and already has a free meal as per above. Claiming Free School Meals means funding will be invested in your child to support them at school. This can be used to provide free meals, additional teaching, uniform, help with the cost of school trips, after school clubs and the provision of free school milk.

To find out if you may be eligible, please click on the link below. You will need your child's details plus your date of birth and National Insurance Number.
